The City of Greater Geelong has been quoted as one of the best places to live in Australia. Travelling from Geelong to Melbourne is very simple and there are a variety of options available to you.
Currently the trip is only an hour by train via the Geelong V/line to Southern Cross Station. But the Victorian Government's Geelong Fast Rail project will enable a travel time of 50 minutes in the future. You can click here to find out more.
The recently available Ferry service between Geelong and Docklands is another great way to travel into the city. The Ferries run multiple trips, seven days a week.
The drive into Melbourne CBD is also just over an hour.
